CJ Olive Networks will launch a transit card for foreign tourists in partnership with Easy Moving, a prepaid transit card operator.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding on the 19th at Easy Moving's headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, agreeing to release the card for inbound foreign travelers by the end of this year. Tourists will be able to use the card for public transportation while earning and spending CJ ONE points at affiliated merchants. The card will be distributed through Easy Moving's sales network, including airports and convenience stores.
CJ ONE plans to use the card to expand global membership sign-ups among visitors to Korea. The company also aims to link the entire travel experience — from airport arrival to public transit, shopping, dining and cultural activities — through a single membership program.
The partnership will also strengthen benefits for domestic CJ ONE members. The companies plan to develop specific programs that give Korean users of Easy Moving transit cards rewards for using public transportation. They will also continue to explore new businesses such as advertising and marketing campaigns, drawing on each company's capabilities.
"We will continue to build a CJ ONE membership ecosystem that encompasses the diverse lifestyles of customers at home and abroad," said Yoo In-sang, chief executive of CJ Olive Networks.
