- Gachagua maintained that he will support the candidate who will be agreed upon by the opposition despite not being him.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that the united opposition will provide one presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a church service at St. Stephens ACK Church in Dracut, Massachusetts, USA on Sunday, Gachagua said he will make necessary sacrifices to make sure the opposition will have one presidential candidate.
"I want to assure the people, the candidate we shall pick, you people will be happy. And the day we announce that candidate, the elections will be won that day," Gachagua told the Kenyans in Diaspora.
Gachagua maintained that he will support the candidate who will be agreed upon by the opposition despite not being him.
"But if it is not agreed that it is me, I will support the one who will be chosen over me, because we have no otherwise,’’ Gachagua said.
"I can assure you that the Kenyan people cannot allow us the luxury of doing anything different. Tukikosa kusikizana watatutoa kwa nyumba zetu," the former DP stated.
He urged the Kenyans in Diaspora to continue praying for the opposition.
"So, relax, pray for us, help us wherever you can and continue to live in peace and love. You stay together as Kenyans. Love one another, support one another.’’Gachagua said.
He promised the Kenyans in Diaspora to make Kenya a corruption-free country so that they can come and invest.
"I know many of you want to invest back home, but you are reluctant because you don't want your money to be spent on corruption,’’ Gachagua said.
