(ANSA) - LONDRA, 19 OTT - The Italian Embassy in London and the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation have announced the launch of “Costellazioni,” a new collaborative project dedicated to promoting contemporary art, supporting emerging artists, and strengthening cultural dialogue between Italy and the United Kingdom. The project kicked off with an opening event at the residence of the Italian Ambassador to London, Fabio Cassese, where two works from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection were exhibited: 'Untitled (little bag-armchair)' (2000) by Paola Pivi and 'Racket II' (2017) by Enrico David. These two works demonstrate Italian art’s ability to make its mark on the international scene and serve as a symbolic reference point for new generations of artists. The initiative served as a preview of the first edition of “Costellazioni,” scheduled for the week of Frieze London 2027. Each year, the project will select an Italian artist represented by a gallery participating in the prestigious London art fair. The artist will have the opportunity to present a work of their own in the embassy’s spaces during an evening event open to the public and dedicated to international cultural exchange. “Costellazioni” was launched with the aim of creating new opportunities for visibility for emerging artists, supporting the role of galleries in the growth and development of their careers, and contributing to the internationalization of Italian contemporary art.
