KANCHANPUR, Oct 12: Shuklaphanta National Park in Kanchanpur has reopened jungle safari for tourists from Tuesday, targeting visitors during the Dashain and Tihar festivals.
However, only major safari routes have been opened as rainfall has yet to subside fully, according to Purushottam Wagle, the park’s information officer.

The currently accessible route runs from Majhgaon to Babatal and connects Ranital, Ghansemaidan and Barkaula, allowing visitors to observe wildlife. Other routes will reopen once the rainfall fully retreats, Wagle said.
Spread over 305 square kilometres, the park is renowned for its Bengal tigers and swamp deer. It is home to around 2,300 swamp deer and 50 tigers.
