Following the improvement of the situation related to airport attacks in Saudi Arabia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has resumed flight operations on the Dhaka-Dammam route.
The national flag carrier has also decided to operate a flight on the Dhaka-Riyadh route starting from October 25. Additionally, flight operations on the Jeddah and Madina routes continue uninterrupted.
As per Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ decision, flights on the Dhaka-Dammam route resumed on Wednesday, October 21. Until October 26, flights will depart from Dhaka for Dammam daily at 8:00 AM Bangladesh time. These flights will be operated using Boeing 777 aircraft.
Furthermore, Biman will operate a flight from Dhaka to Riyadh on October 25. This flight will depart from Dhaka for Riyadh at 1:25 AM Bangladesh time on the night of October 25 (early morning of Oct 26).
This decision has been taken considering the improved situation concerning airport attacks in Saudi Arabia. Subsequent decisions regarding the operation of other flights on the Riyadh route will be made after thoroughly monitoring and reviewing the overall situation.
Passengers destined for Riyadh who hold tickets can contact Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ designated sales counters to change their tickets and travel to Saudi Arabia via Dammam. However, this facility is subject to ticket change policies and seat availability.
Meanwhile, two flights will be operated from Dhaka to Jeddah on October 22. On October 23, 24, and 25, one flight will depart daily from Dhaka for Jeddah at 7:20 PM Bangladesh time.
Flight operations on the Madina route also remain normal. Biman has been operating regular flights on this route since October 18, utilizing Boeing 787 aircraft. The flight schedule and operations for the Madina route will remain unchanged until further notice.
It is hoped that the resumption and increase in flights on various routes to Saudi Arabia will alleviate the difficulties faced by passengers traveling to the country.
