MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders AM president Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize is back home after a business trip to China, declaring that her presence is needed as the ‘Black Bull’ seek a return to winning ways.
Mkhize, who missed the club’s recent 1-0 defeat to Nsingizini Hotspurs, has shared an emotional message on social media ahead of Highlanders’ MTN Premier League clash against Pigg’s Peak Professionals this afternoon at Somhlolo National Stadium.
The South African businesswoman’s absence attracted attention after Highlanders suffered their second consecutive league defeat, following a 2-0 loss to Royal Leopard.
Quality Dlamini scored the decisive goal in the 41st minute at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, leaving Highlanders searching for answers after another disappointing result.
At the time, Highlanders AM spokesperson Thabiso ‘Touch’ Manyatsi confirmed that Mkhize was out of the country on business, adding that her activities outside the club were private and confidential.
However, the Highlanders president has now signalled her return, suggesting that she is eager to reunite with her team as the club looks to steady its campaign.
“I am coming home. My team Mbabane Highlanders need me more,” Mkhize posted.
In another message, she wrote: “Refreshing done , about to land, mommy is coming home boys team and everything will be okay.”
She also expressed her excitement about returning home, saying: “There’s just something special about going back home. No matter how far you travel, that feeling can never be traded for anything else.”
Mkhize added that she wanted to make the journey more comfortable so that she could rest during the next leg of her flight and be ready when she arrived home.
Her message comes at a crucial time for Highlanders, who face Pigg’s Peak Professionals on Sunday afternoon as they attempt to bounce back from their recent setbacks.
The match at Somhlolo National Stadium presents an opportunity for the ‘Black Bull’ to respond on the pitch, with Mkhize’s return likely to attract further attention from supporters.
Whether her homecoming will inspire a change in fortunes remains to be seen, but her message has made one thing clear: The Highlanders president is eager to be back with her boys.
