Linde Bangladesh Ltd reported a 19% drop in net profit for the July-September 2026 quarter, as rising power and energy prices squeezed operating margins despite top-line revenue growth.
According to a price-sensitive disclosure filed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today (17 October), the multinational oxygen and industrial gas manufacturer posted a net profit of Tk7.96 crore for the third quarter ended 30 September 2026, down from Tk9.86 crore recorded in the same period of 2025.
Consequently, earnings per share (EPS) fell to Tk5.23 for the quarter from Tk6.48 in Q3 2025.
Profitability declined despite a 9% year-on-year increase in quarterly revenue to Tk64.17 crore. The company attributed the profit erosion to an increased cost of goods sold driven by rising power and energy tariffs, alongside higher product distribution expenses.
For the cumulative nine-month period, Linde Bangladesh logged a 5% decline in net profit to Tk27 crore, with nine-month EPS sliding to Tk17.78 from Tk18.80 in the previous year. Nine-month revenue grew 11% to reach Tk186 crore.
Despite profit pressures, operational cash flow improved significantly. Net operating cash flow per share climbed to Tk11.67 for January-September 2026 from Tk8.25 in 2025, driven by improved trade debtors' collection.
Net asset value per share strengthened to Tk218.08 as of 30 September 2026, up from Tk210.31 on 31 December 2025.
Following the financial disclosure today, Linde Bangladesh shares closed 0.82% lower at Tk649.90 on the DSE.
