DeFiLlama has long been where crypto traders go to stare at numbers. Now those numbers come with a betting slip attached.
Trueo, an onchain prediction market protocol, announced on October 20, 2026 that it has signed a distribution partnership with DeFiLlama. The deal integrates Trueo’s prediction markets into DeFiLlama’s analytics dashboards. Users who come to check a protocol’s metrics can now take a position on where those metrics are headed.
What the integration actually does
The markets on offer focus on DeFi metrics. According to the announcement details, that includes protocol revenue from well-known platforms like Uniswap. It also includes exploit risk, meaning markets tied to whether protocols get hacked.
Those markets resolve using DeFiLlama’s own data. The pitch is convenience. A trader looking at a revenue chart no longer needs to open a separate app to act on a hunch about it. The prediction market sits inside the analytics view.
How Trueo works under the hood
Trueo describes itself as decentralized and permissionless. Anyone can create a market, and markets take a simple binary form: YES or NO.
Each market comes with resolution criteria set in advance. Settlement runs through an optimistic oracle. Put simply, an optimistic oracle is a system that generally treats a proposed outcome as valid unless someone challenges it, rather than requiring a fresh verification step for every result.
Collateral is another design choice worth noting. Trueo uses TYD, a USDC-backed stablecoin that earns yield. So capital locked in a market is not just sitting idle while traders wait for an outcome.
Governance runs through the protocol’s native token, TRUE. Its market capitalization sits at about $2.2 million.
The numbers: small protocol, big distribution
Trueo is not a giant. Its total value locked is reported to fall somewhere between $1.1 million and $2.2 million.
On DeFiLlama’s own rankings, that places Trueo between #12 and #14 among prediction market protocols by TVL.
Trueo’s funding history is also modest but real. The project raised approximately $3.7 million in a token pre-sale round in November 2024.
Stack those figures together and a clear picture emerges. The pre-sale raised more than the protocol’s current reported TVL range, and the TRUE token’s market cap sits at the top end of that same range.
The move from Base to Ethereum
The partnership lands in the middle of a broader transition. In September 2026, Trueo announced it would shift its primary deployment from Base to Ethereum.
The migration is anticipated to allow for a more decentralized oracle setup. It could also potentially draw in a larger user base.
For a protocol whose markets depend on credible settlement, the oracle angle is the key one. If outcomes are going to determine who gets paid, the system deciding those outcomes needs to be as hard to manipulate as possible. A more decentralized oracle setup speaks directly to that concern.
What this means for DeFi traders and prediction markets
The most immediate effect is visibility. DeFiLlama’s dashboards put Trueo’s markets in front of an audience that already cares deeply about protocol revenue, TVL trends and security incidents.
Exploit markets raise obvious questions about whether anyone with inside knowledge of a vulnerability could profit from it. How Trueo structures and monitors those markets will matter for both credibility and reputation.
Because markets settle against DeFiLlama’s data, the accuracy and timeliness of that data becomes part of the product. Any dispute over a reported figure is no longer just an analytics quibble. It now has money riding on it.
The things to watch are straightforward. Track whether Trueo climbs from its #12 to #14 ranking, whether its reported TVL moves beyond the $1.1 million to $2.2 million range, and how smoothly the Ethereum migration and its oracle changes play out.
