A Mississippi man was recovering after he was accidentally compacted into a garbage truck on Wednesday and somehow survived the horrifying ordeal.
Craig Hill had to be brought to the hospital after finding himself inside a garbage truck as incredible new photos show the bad bruises he suffered from the incident.
Firefighters responded to a call to a Circle K along Highway 61 and Iowa Boulevard and treated Hill before he was moved to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
His sister, Summer Carlin, said she came in from Texas after hearing what happened.
'He kinda burst into tears a little bit. We both cried together,' she told WJTV. 'And I just hugged him.'
She added that she had not seen her brother for over a year and that he struggled with homelessness.
According to Carlin, Hill is going to stay with his mother who lives in Mississippi.
The hospital was able to contact his family because of a note they found with Hill that included information about his family.
Craig Hill was dumped into a garbage truck by Vicksburg, Mississippi on Wednesday
His sister, Summer Carlin, shared photos of his bruises and set up an online fundraiser to help cover the expenses for his care as Hill struggles with homelessness
His sister further explained that Hill had surgery on his 'pelvis to place pins and plates.'
Carlin set up an online fundraiser explaining the horror story and asking for financial support.
'Craig was inside a trash bin trying to get something when the truck picked it up before he could get out.
'He yelled for help, but the driver could not hear him,' the fundraiser stated.
'By the grace of God, Craig survived being compacted in the trash truck - an experience that almost took his life!'
Donations will be directed to cover Hill's 'care and needs during this critical time' and help him while 'rebuilding his life and getting back on his feet after this traumatic event.'
The Daily Mail contacted Carlin for comment.
