Ambia has also allegedly issued threats against Feruz's younger siblings, Shadia, aged 19, and Malik, aged 15, raising serious concerns about the safety of the bereaved family.
The matter was formally reported at Sunton Police Station in Kasarani Sub-County under OB No. 37 of September 30, 2026.
Suspect reportedly spotted in Kakamega
Sonko disclosed that Ambia was reportedly sighted in Kakamega County earlier on the day the alert was issued. Authorities are believed to be pursuing leads in the area.
"Nelson Ambia is wanted in connection with the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Feruz Hussein, whom he reportedly suffocated to death with a pillow following a minor domestic dispute," Sonko said, adding that the suspect had threatened to harm the victim's siblings.
The former governor used the announcement to call for justice for Feruz, emphasising that financial hardship should never be a barrier to legal recourse.
"Being poor is not a crime! No family should be denied justice because of poverty," he said.
Anyone with information on Ambia's location is urged to contact the nearest police station.
