The island is part of the list thanks to its dunes and seemingly endless sandy shorelines, the sprawling Island Walk route, and its food scene, which includes fresh lobster, clams, mussels, and oysters.
We also can’t forget to mention a visit to the Anne of Green Gables Museum and immersing yourself in the life of Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Heck, even check out the Canadian Potato Museum and Antique Farm Machinery Museum, the West Point Lighthouse Inn and Museum, and of course, Thunder Cove Beach for some incredible sights and relaxation.
Other locations to make the cut for underrated destinations include Newcastle, Australia; Cuenca, Ecuador; Turku, Finland; Ishikawa, Japan; and Bisbee, Arizona.
