“A big win” Arteta reacts to Arsenal’s victory at Forest

১৯/১০/২০২৬

Mikel Arteta admitted that Arsenal’s victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League was a significant result for his side. The Gunners secured three important points against a difficult opponent, keeping themselves close to league leaders Manchester City despite the challenges they have faced.

Forest proved to be a stubborn opponent, making life difficult for Arsenal throughout the match. Despite creating opportunities, they were unable to convert their chances, leaving them disappointed after a performance that suggested they could have taken something from the game.

Arteta reflects on important Arsenal victory

Arsenal went into the match hoping to secure a positive result, but Forest made it difficult for them to find a way through. The home side defended effectively and created problems of their own, ensuring that the contest remained close.

Forest could feel unfortunate to come away without a point, particularly given the chances they created. Arsenal, meanwhile, may consider themselves fortunate to have secured the victory despite managing only one shot on target. Nevertheless, taking all three points was the priority for Arteta and his players.

The result was especially important because Arsenal have found trips to Forest difficult in recent seasons. Arteta recognised the challenge posed by their opponents and acknowledged the importance of finally winning at a ground where his side had not secured victory in the previous two campaigns.

Arteta explains why the win mattered

The Arsenal manager also highlighted how difficult it was to break down Forest, with the match decided by fine margins. Speaking to Arsenal Media, the Spaniard explained why he regarded the result as a major achievement for his team.

“A big win, a win that we didn’t have in the last two seasons at a really tough place. We knew the game was going to be with small margins, especially if we were going to score in the first few minutes, which we didn’t do. There’s a team that is extremely difficult to break down. Almost everything has to be perfect, but you even need to take in the chaotic moments, which we had in the first half a few, but we didn’t hit the target.”

The victory keeps the Gunners firmly in the title race, with their focus now on maintaining their consistency and collecting further results as the Premier League campaign continues.
