MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte’s defense team is set to challenge on Monday the claims of forensic financial analyst Alexander Cabrera.
Cabrera is the expert witness presented by the prosecution to prove Duterte’s alleged hidden wealth.
During his direct examination on October 9, Cabrera, citing his report, said that Duterte and her spouse, Atty. Manases Carpio, had a total unexplained wealth of P817.87 million from 2022 to 2025.

His report was a review of Duterte, Carpio and their respective business interests’ bank and tax records including Duterte’s statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth.
The figure consists of P207.7 million of undeclared cash, P143.5 million of undeclared other personal and real properties, P111.85 million in undeclared income of Duterte and Carpio, P142.2 million in undeclared income from Cale 88 Foods Corp. and Metro Chow King Food Corp., and P212.63 million in undeclared income from Gencorp Industries Inc. in total from 2022 to 2025.
Cabrera’s report also concluded the following:
- “VP Sara Duterte’s SALN for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 were untruthful, with a substantial amount of assets belonging to the Respondent and Spouse found to be unreported.”
- – “VP Sara during her Vice Presidency continued to participate in various businesses.
- – “Her unexplained wealth, based only on the limited documents examined, excluding documents in the possession of VP Sara and Spouse, amounts to P817.87 million.”
- – “The above-mentioned infringements which happened in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 established a pattern of constitutional violations year-on-year.”
- – “Apart from the Constitution, other laws were violated or may have been violated such as the National Internal Revenue Code, RA 1379, RA 6713, RA 3019, RA 12009, SRC Rules, and COA Rules.” /mr
