The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion(ICPNC) has engaged journalists at its office ahead of the National Unity and Social Cohesion Conference, scheduled for 26-27 October, 2026, at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown.
Held under the theme, “The Road to Bintumani 2026: From Commitment to Action,” the conference is expected to bring together national leaders and key stakeholders to discuss the future of peace, unity and social cohesion in Sierra Leone.
The press engagement will allow the Commission to explain the purpose of the national gathering, its expected outcomes and the importance of rebuilding trust across political and social divides at a critical time for the country.
President Julius Maada Bio is expected to deliver the keynote address at the conference, which will also bring together former presidents, vice presidents and other national stakeholders.
The gathering is expected to provide a platform for dialogue to strengthen national unity and to promote lasting peace among Sierra Leoneans, particularly across political and social divisions.

The conference’s central message is the need to move beyond commitments and translate discussions and declarations into practical actions that will strengthen trust, foster national cohesion and secure lasting peace.
As Sierra Leone prepares for the two-day conference, the focus remains on how national leaders and stakeholders can work collectively to build a more united and peaceful nation.
