The video, posted by @_abigail.n on 24 October, opens with a clip of two people putting together bunk-bed furniture. The clip cuts to footage from what appears to be a school prize-giving ceremony.

The event space is decorated with red, black, and white balloons, and the mood is unmistakably celebratory. The text overlay makes her message clear: the same community that criticised her decision was now watching her son thrive. Watch the video that reignited the boarding school debate:

The post quickly drew hundreds of comments from parents and former boarding school pupils weighing in on both sides of the conversation.

User Eunny put it simply:

"Do what works for you, do what is best for your child❤️ha se group work."

Teacher Ms Maz👩🏾‍🏫 offered a perspective rooted in township realities, writing:

"I understand you, mami😭especially when you live in a township full of toxic ppl and bad influence."

Several commenters reflected on their own boarding school upbringings with warmth, though some noted unexpected long-term effects. Londz cautioned:

"Not judging, but please make sure it's not long-term 🥰 I went to a boarding school and it teaches too much independence, when I got to Varsity I had to be begged to visit home cos I was used to be on my own😂."

Munei_justliving echoed the sentiment:

"Boarding school was the best time of my life ❤️but it made me love being away from home; even as an adult in UNI I hardly visit home."

Not everyone had reservations.

Serialong Kukudi revealed a long-term commitment of their own:

"My son started grade 1, we are now in grade 7."
