Guwahati, Oct 17: The Chief Electoral Officer of Assam announced on Friday that the state has begun a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of its electoral rolls. As part of the exercise, draft rolls will be published on November 12, while the final voters’ list is scheduled for release on January 4.
Officials stated that the revision will ensure the removal of ineligible entries, including duplicate names, deceased electors, and individuals who have permanently relocated. The process is being carried out in line with the Election Commission’s guidelines to guarantee that the rolls remain accurate, inclusive, and free of errors.
The CEO’s office emphasized that the SSR aims to provide citizens with a smooth and transparent voting experience by strengthening the integrity of the electoral system.
