In Sunday's 17-12 loss to the New York Jets, the Cleveland Browns also saw their rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion exit the game after a scary helmet-to-helmet hit.
The hit that took out Concepcion occurred in the game's first quarter as Concepcion was trying to catch a deep pass from quarterback Deshaun Watson. The Jets' Minkah Fitzpatrick ran to tackle him, resulting in the brutal hit that knocked out the rookie.
Concepcion remained motionless on the ground for several moments afterward, then eventually got up and was escorted to the locker room by medical staff. He was then ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Browns rookie entered the NFL's concussion protocol this week. On Wednesday, Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot provided an update regarding the Browns' rookie after his scary situation this past Sunday.

"KC Concepcion (concussion) is progressing very well and is set to practice today. That’s remarkable considering he was knocked out cold when #Jets Minkah Fitzpatrick hit him helmet to helmet," Cabot reported.
On Wednesday, Browns head coach Todd Monken said, "It's cool that it wasn't worse than it was," regarding the rookie's injury. Watson had similar sentiments about the rookie doing well health-wise.
"I'm just glad that KC is healthy, and he's doing a lot better for sure," Watson said.
The Browns drafted Concepcion at No. 24 from Texas A&M in the 2026 NFL Draft, and he's recorded 149 yards on 18 receptions in five games. To play in his team's next game, he'll have to clear the league's concussion protocol, which is a multi-step process.
Cleveland has Isaiah Bond on the depth chart behind Concepcion, giving them another option who could step up while the rookie recovers. Bond had three receptions for 74 yards in this past Sunday's loss to the Jets.
Next up for the Browns is their division rival, the 4-1 Baltimore Ravens. Cleveland is still relevant in the AFC North with a 3-2 record, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Bengals.
