(ANSA) - ROME, 16 OTT - Pope Leo XIV celebrated midday Mass Friday and the first photos from his hospital stay after lung-cancer surgery have been released, the Vatican said Friday.
At 12:00 today, Pope Leo XIV celebrated Mass in a room set up on the 10th floor of Rome's Gemelli Hospital, it said.
Present were hospital medical and nursing staff—who were off-duty at the time—as well as members of the Vatican City State Gendarmerie Corps.
"In his homily, the Pope thanked all the staff—doctors, nurses, and support personnel—for the work they do every day in caring for the sick and their vulnerabilities, and, in particular, for all they have done and continue to do for him," the Vatican Press Office reported, as it released photos of Leo.
