Bruno Mars is taking the mic at Stadium-Chinatown Station, adding a famous voice to SkyTrain during his Vancouver concert run.
After inviting public transit riders yesterday to play musical detective with a series of emoji clues, TransLink has officially confirmed the singer as SkyTrain’s newest celebrity guest voice — and its first music artist to take on the role.

Starting today, Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, passengers passing through Stadium-Chinatown Station will hear a special pre-recorded voice announcement from Mars periodically on the days of his five BC Place Stadium concerts. His message will join the station’s usual announcements.
The dates to listen to his voice announcements are Oct. 14, 16, 17, 20, and 21, matching the dates of his Vancouver stadium concerts.
Mars has two announcements:
“To everybody taking the train, it’s Bruno Mars. I can’t wait to see you all. It’s about to get real romantic tonight. I love you.”
“To everybody on the train, it’s Bruno Mars. Thank you so much for coming to The Romantic Tour. I hope to see you all very soon. I love you.”

The official announcement today solves the mystery behind yesterday’s TransLink social media teaser, which asked people to identify song titles from emojis and use those answers to guess the voice.
A treasure chest pointed to “Treasure,” a ring and pointing finger suggested “Marry You,” and a padlock paired with an angel hinted at “Locked Out of Heaven.” The clues had fans overwhelmingly arriving at the same answer in the social media comments.
The collaboration with Warner Music Canada also comes with a practical benefit for the public transit authority. TransLink notes that it will earn advertising revenue from the partnership.
“Most people don’t expect to hear Bruno Mars while they’re heading to work, school, or a concert. That’s what makes this so much fun, because it brings the concert experience to SkyTrain customers,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn in a statement.
“It’s a unique way to brighten someone’s trip while generating additional revenue that helps support transit service across the region.”
Mars follows two other familiar local celebrity names who have lent their voices to SkyTrain: actor Seth Rogen in 2018 and Canadian soccer star Christine Sinclair during the 2026 FIFA World Cup period.
His Vancouver concert schedule has also grown considerably since the original announcement. Initially booked for a single BC Place Stadium show, the visit expanded to five performances in response to demand.
Fans heading to the stadium are encouraged to take public transit and leave extra time for the crowds.
And while “Leave the Door Open” may have helped give away the mystery singer, passengers should still let those SkyTrain doors close.
