Create Mozambique and Dentsu Mozambique have won five awards at the 2026 Loeries, becoming, according to the agencies, the only operation in Mozambique to achieve this result in a single edition. The achievement marks their return to the stage six years after their last award and showcases national creative talent in one of the leading competitions for excellence in Africa and the Middle East.
“This represents 30 years of a relationship built on trust, partnership and ambition. It is this trust that allows us to dream, challenge convention and turn ideas into work capable of competing on international stages. This achievement reflects the strength of our relationship with CDM and the talent of our teams,” says Cátia de Sousa, Managing Director of Dentsu Mozambique.
The significance of this achievement is better understood by considering the place the Loeries occupy in the industry. Established in 1978, they are considered by the organisation to be the leading competition for creative excellence in Africa and the Middle East, recognising innovative ideas and outstanding execution. The awards are included in WARC’s international rankings, while Loeries Creative Week, which took place from 4 to 9 October in Cape Town, brings together professionals, agencies, brands and industry leaders for a programme of seminars, masterclasses, knowledge-sharing and networking, culminating in the award ceremonies.

The demanding nature of this recognition is reinforced by an anonymous judging process conducted over two rounds by judges specialising in their respective fields. It is in this context of regional competition that the five awards won by the agencies take on particular significance.
The awards were presented for The Reversible Jerseys. Create Mozambique won two Silver awards, in the Design – Fabric Design and Integrated Campaign categories. Dentsu Mozambique received one Silver, in Media Innovation – Channel Creativity, and two Bronze awards, in Media Innovation – Media Campaign and Out of Home – Ambient.
The campaign was based on an insight into the passion for football: despite the rivalry between teams, the game can unite supporters regardless of the result. The idea took shape through reversible jerseys, transforming two sides of the same passion into a creative platform recognised across different disciplines.
For Melchior Ferreira, the campaign’s Creative Director, the challenge was to turn this cultural truth into a simple, relevant idea capable of making an impact.
“Football thrives on rivalry, but passion for the game is something that unites us. The challenge was to turn this tension into an idea that celebrated football regardless of the result. The reversible jerseys were born out of this duality: two sides, two teams, the same passion. Seeing this idea recognised at the Loeries shows how a human insight, when developed with creativity and rigour, can cross borders and achieve international relevance,” he says.

The five awards recognise the work of the Create Mozambique and Dentsu Mozambique teams and reinforce their ambition to continue developing ideas in Mozambique that can compete on the industry’s most demanding stages.
