Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka have been sent to five days of judicial custody and lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. The development follows their detention over an alleged trespass at Jantar Mantar and a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Delhi Police alleged that the leaders violated existing peace bonds after previously being released on bonds of Rs 50,000 each. Another CJP leader, Ajinkya Shinde, was also produced before an executive magistrate, with his bail bond formalities reportedly being finalised.
