Uganda Waragi, through its Spirit of Uganda platform, has announced its support for 2 Kings One Mic, a comedy event featuring two of Uganda’s leading stand-up comedians, Patrick “Salvador” Idringi and Dr Hillary Okello.
The show is scheduled for Friday, October 23, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, bringing the two comedians together for a joint showcase shaped by public conversations and audience comparisons of their distinct comedic styles.
Speaking at the announcement, Roy Tumwizere, Senior Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to celebrating Ugandan identity and humour.
“Uganda Waragi is built on celebrating what makes us uniquely Ugandan, like our warmth and our unmatched sense of humour,” Tumwizere said. “We are proud to support Salvador and Dr Hillary Okello together on one stage in a celebration of the Spirit of Laughter that defines us.”
The partnership builds on Uganda Waragi’s longstanding association with Uganda’s comedy scene, including its support for Salvador’s Africa Laughs. The brand supported the show’s seventh season last year, which also marked Salvador’s 15-year milestone in the entertainment industry.
Through its continued involvement in comedy, Uganda Waragi positions humour as a platform for bringing people together across different backgrounds through shared experiences and entertainment.
The support for 2 Kings One Mic extends this association, highlighting local talent and storytelling while bringing two prominent performers together for an evening centred on Ugandan comedy.
The event will also feature musical performances by Janzi Band and curtain-raising acts ahead of the headline performances by Salvador and Dr Hillary Okello.
With both comedians taking the stage at the same event, 2 Kings One Mic is expected to draw audiences interested in experiencing their contrasting comedic approaches under one roof.
