As autumn reaches its peak, the intense energy of Scorpio forces us to confront the ugly, buried truths that have been festering in the dark for far too long.
The formidable hunter Orion was extremely arrogant, boldly proclaiming that he could kill every animal on Earth. Mother Earth, wanting to put an end to this threat to nature, sent forth a giant scorpion. Quietly emerging from beneath the earth, the scorpion struck with precision, stinging Orion on the heel and ending his arrogance. Eventually, the scorpion was elevated into the night sky, becoming the constellation of Scorpio.
INTENSE MONTH

Scorpio falls at the point in the Earth’s seasonal transition, when autumn reaches its fullest intensity and its energy becomes most concentrated. Oct. 24 to Nov. 22 marks the peak of autumn’s energy. This energy carries the force of bringing things buried deep beneath the earth to the surface, drawing hidden truths and that which is concealed in darkness into the light. Much like the ambition lurking beneath Orion’s arrogance and his disrespect for all living things, the world contains countless hidden ugly and dark truths. During this month, when Scorpio energy is at its most intense, all these hidden truths will be exposed.
Like a wound on the Earth itself, the more it is covered up and the more the truth is concealed, the less chance the wound has to form a scab and heal. The very purpose of sending forth the scorpion is to eliminate, as much as possible, the harm caused by those with arrogant ambitions and excessive pride, the pain of the sting forcing them to reflect on their actions in the hope that they will grow from the experience.
THE UGLY SIDE OF SCORPIO SEASON
During Scorpio season, the world will reveal more of its ugly and filthy sides, causing even those who are much admired to fall from grace. During this month, the darker sides of our inner worlds will be more likely to surface. Yet Scorpio season is precisely when we should devote time and attention gazing deep into the abyss because it is there where we can reflect more clearly.
The energy of this month is particularly well suited to revisiting unresolved problems, tracing them back to their roots, finding appropriate solutions and ultimately reaching reconciliation. Those facing legal difficulties who did not receive justice, may go through a more painful struggle this month because the parties involved may all share deeply entangled karmic ties that cannot easily be severed.
Additionally, during Scorpio season, those in intimate relationships should not shy away from engaging in honest and meaningful discussions about commitments or the division of assets. This could be a make-or-break conversation, so give the opportunity presented by this month the respect it deserves.
SCORPIO AND INVESTING
Meanwhile, the stock market may undergo some rather dramatic changes this month. Stable markets may be the domain of other zodiac seasons, but the investment world becomes a high-risk arena during Scorpio season. For those of you who trade using leverage, pay close attention to the information you rely on and how quickly you make your decisions.
As for the energy affecting individual zodiac signs: Cancer, if you have plans to conceive this month, there may be good news ahead. Maintaining a positive state of mind and making sure your body receives the nutrients it needs will be especially important. If you are not planning to conceive, be sure to practice safe sex.
Aquarius, you may experience quite noticeable emotional fluctuations. Do not worry; there is nothing wrong with you. By allowing certain emotions to surface and be released, you may actually find clarity on questions that have left you confused for quite some time. Make the most of this opportunity.
Finally, may everyone who has been hurt by ugly truths concealed in the shadows find genuine peace and tranquility during this Scorpio season, a month in which the truth is brought to light.
