JJ Banda alive and kicking – Police
POLICE have finally confirmed the apprehension of English disadvantaged fugitive and former Petauke Central law maker Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda, stating that he is currently in a Zambian custody, awaiting formal arrest and charging.
Banda’s two-year escape from the law ended on Wednesday when authorities traced him at his ‘boarding house’ in Mozambique and quickly extradited him to Zambia.
The 40 year old was facing a charge of attempted murder and aggravated robbery before he made a daring escape while receiving treatment in Chipata General hospital back in August, 2024.
The Zambia Police Service even announced a K2 million bounty on the opposition ‘jujuman’s’ head that whoever found him would walk away with millions.
His escape also led to the arrest of his wife, Lombe Chali who was at his bed side, two police officers and three prison warders for allegedly aiding his escape.
Since then, the country had not heard or seen Banda, as police had almost depleted their summer sweat in search for him.
Last year, the loud mouth jujuman whose tongue has rebbeled against English grammar was spoted in Zimbabwe and was briefly apprehended.
However, attempts to extradite the former MP from that country yielded no fruits.
He then turned into an online fake Pentecostal papa whose specialty was to go live and shower government with pit latrine language and criticism while pouring death threats on President Hichilema.
During his broadcasts, with his receding hairline and a malnourished body without nshima from Matebeto Thornpark, Jay Jay would boast about how he could never be arrested or be brought into Zambia by government.
His own words have since turned against the prophet who couldn’t foresee his own future.
Police public relations officer Chipo Kaitisha shared that the Zambia Police Service will provide further details regarding the loudmouth Zambian in due course.
“He is currently in the country awaiting formal arrest and charging,” she noted.
