PETALING JAYA: A total of 358 complaints about smoking and vaping in no-smoking areas have been lodged in Selangor through the MyLapor system launched on Oct 12.
The health ministry said Kuala Lumpur recorded the second-highest number of complaints at 210, followed by Johor with 160.
Most of the complaints involved dining areas, which remained a key focus of monitoring and enforcement.
"A total of 1,113 complaints have been received through MyLapor as of 2pm on Oct 15.
"Of these, 471 were dismissed, 347 were new complaints, 232 are being investigated, and 63 are in the process of completion and feedback," Berita Harian quoted the ministry as saying.
It said 216 summonses were issued for offences under the Smoking Products Control Act 2024 (Act 852).
