Taylor Swift had been married to Travis Kelce for just over three months, but her past relationships keep showing up around her music. A new report claims that the singer will not leave those stories behind now that she has begun a new romantic chapter alongside the Kansas City Chiefs player.
The theory gained momentum again with the songs Swift included on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. Among them is “Patient Zero”, a track that fans have linked to Joe Jonas and, in other interpretations, to Joe Alwyn. Swift, however, has not confirmed that either of them is the subject.
Marriage to Travis Kelce doesn't change the way she writes
Taylor's followers say that marriage to Kelce does not mean the singer will stop writing about the relationships that were part of her life. The difference would be in the perspective: now she can look at those stories from a distance and not necessarily from the pain of a recent breakup.

The premise fits especially well with “Patient Zero”. Swift explained that the song came about after a friend told her that an ex’s new partner had contacted her to ask whether she had gone through similar situations during that relationship.
The conversation led other women in the group to share similar experiences. Swift then decided to write from the perspective of someone who had already been through that situation and could help someone else who had just discovered it.
That has not stopped fans from looking for a specific name behind the song. Joe Jonas is one of the main candidates in those theories, while other followers have found possible references to Joe Alwyn. None of those interpretations have been confirmed by Swift.
“Pink Clouding” also took its fans back to the past
Something similar happened with “Pink Clouding”, another of the new tracks from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. Some of the followers interpreted the song as a retrospective look at Tom Hiddleston, with whom Swift was in a relationship during 2016.
The lyrics speak of regret and of having been able to hurt someone who did not deserve it, which led some fans to connect it with that story.
The difference compared to other stages of her career lies precisely there. Swift can revisit old experiences without that meaning they are still part of her current love life.
Her marriage to Kelce also doesn't seem to have changed that creative dynamic. As long as she keeps finding new ways to tell stories she has already lived through, her past relationships will continue to appear in her songs and, with them, in her fans' theories.
