A new report assessing Australia’s current, emerging, and future skills and training needs has found more demand for higher-level skills across the economy.
Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) has found more demand for higher-level skills across the economy in its annual assessment of Australia’s current, emerging and future skills and training needs.
The report suggests that improving utilisation is one area where Australia could respond to the “rapidly changing” skills requirements of the workforce.
“When jobs are designed to maximise skills utilisation, enable technology adoption, and support retention and skills growth, [employers, workers and productivity] can benefit,” the report said.
“Structural underutilisation arises from persistent mismatches between potential workers and available work.
