WeChatBridge, an open-source tool that forwards WeChat chat records to AI agents, has released a Windows version in beta. The project is built by independent developers and published on GitHub under the freestylefly account. It is not a Tencent product.
The tool fills a gap in WeChat's sharing menu. Newer versions of WeChat let users select several messages and forward them as a merged bundle to third-party apps, producing an archive with text, images and video. WeChatBridge adds entries to that forwarding menu so the bundle can go straight to coding and work agents such as Codex, Claude Code, WorkBuddy, Doubao and Qwen, or be saved as Markdown notes in Obsidian as a personal knowledge base.
The project launched for macOS at the end of September and has since passed about 1,200 stars on GitHub. Many users had asked for Windows support. The developers said the port took longer than expected because the Windows system architecture differs from macOS, and compatibility with older Windows builds required an extra layer. They said the feature works most smoothly on the latest Windows versions. The interface matches the Mac version.
The Windows release adds a way to collect more than 100 messages. WeChat normally shows a warning when a user tries to select over 100 records. Rather than simulating clicks or decrypting WeChat's chat database, which the developers said could risk account bans, WeChatBridge collects messages in batches and marks the first item of each batch to make the next one easy to find. The batches are then forwarded the same way as a single transfer.
Users can also bind scenarios and skills to individual group chats. In a demo, the developers attached an anti-fraud skill to a group and forwarded its messages to Doubao, which ran the skill and analyzed the conversation. A customer group could instead be paired with a prompt that assesses purchase intent. Each forwarding entry can be switched on or off.
The developers describe the Windows build as a test version and ask users to report problems on GitHub. They also say the tool is for learning and testing, and that users should only process chat records they are entitled to use and remove sensitive information before sending it to third-party AI tools.
