Mzansi Magic has officially confirmed that Married at First Sight Mzansi: Uncut will premiere on 30 October 2026 at 8 pm. The six-part series promises to air scenes, conversations and moments that were cut from the original broadcast.
The channel broke the news on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, via its official Instagram page, teasing the announcement with: "Yoh, the tea didn't make the cut, but it's making its way to you!"
Who will host Uncut?
According to Citizen, Season 1 alumna Boitshepo Mashetla is rumoured to be co-hosting the series, while reunion host Lerato Mvelase is also expected to be involved. Mzansi Magic has not yet confirmed a full presenter line-up.
The promotional flier featured the entire Season 3 cast, raising expectations that the unresolved tensions from the reunion could finally be unpacked. The Season 3 reunion's second part dropped several serious claims, leaving viewers with more questions than answers. Whether Uncut will address those specific moments remains unconfirmed.
Mzansi Magic responds to Nompumelelo Sobopha's allegations
Much of the anticipation surrounding the spin-off is tied to the allegations made by Season 3 bride Nompumelelo Sobopha. Appearing on the Success Unscripted Podcast on 14 October, she claimed she was pressured to be physical with her husband, Hlulani Ngobeni, and further alleged that footage aired on the show misrepresented her reaction to that situation.
Briefly News reached out to Mzansi Magic, which responded with the following statement:
"Mzansi Magic understands the concerns that have been raised by viewers and take all participant experiences and audience feedback seriously. The well-being of participants remains a priority throughout the production process, with screening procedures and support mechanisms in place before, during and after filming. As a reality series, Married at First Sight Mzansi captures real-life relationships and experiences, and episodes are edited from extensive footage with the aim of presenting an authentic reflection of participants' journeys. We continuously review feedback and remain committed to responsible storytelling, fairness, and the welfare of everyone involved in the production."
The channel's response stops short of directly addressing Sobopha's specific claims, but the statement signals awareness of the pressure building around how her storyline was handled. Whether the Uncut format gives her, or any other cast member, the space to tell their full story is something viewers will have to wait until the end of October to find out.
