VNTG, the IT affiliate of SeAH Group, said on the 16th that it will work with Microsoft Korea on everything from technology buildout to on-site deployment and operations for AI transformation, or AX, at manufacturers.
VNTG signed a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft Korea on building an end-to-end execution framework for AX at manufacturing companies on the 14th at SeAH Tower in Seoul's Mapo District. Under the agreement, VNTG will lead the buildout and operation of artificial intelligence systems on factory floors, while Microsoft Korea will support technology capability development and the recruitment of partners.
The two companies will cooperate in four areas: building an execution framework for manufacturing AX, securing early projects and use cases, joint business development and market entry, and creating a partner ecosystem. VNTG plans to link Microsoft's enterprise technology to its own solutions and services, covering equipment data collection and integration, analysis and prediction, and AI agent-based workflow automation on factory floors.
The companies will jointly identify AX business opportunities at manufacturers. VNTG will handle business proposals, proof of concept, and system buildout and operation, while Microsoft will provide related technology and business support. Based on use cases secured in early projects, VNTG plans to expand the scope of AI use to other production processes and plants.
They will also cooperate in finding solution providers and startups needed for manufacturing AX. VNTG, an operator in the TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups), a Korean government startup support program, plans to expand the partner ecosystem by connecting companies it has invested in with Microsoft's startup support programs.
"VNTG has carried out AX on factory floors from start to finish," VNTG CEO Kim Tae-geun said. "By adding Microsoft's technology to that experience, we will help domestic manufacturers move beyond testing AI to delivering results on the floor."
Cho Won-woo, CEO of Microsoft Korea, said AI adoption at manufacturers has entered a stage where the depth of transformation and tangible results matter more than scale. "By working with VNTG, which has deep expertise in manufacturing sites, we will help Microsoft's AI and cloud technology translate into real innovation and results for domestic manufacturers," he said.
