TUMPAT: The elder sister of Norhazwani Ibrahim, 35, told her two young nieces this morning that their mother had died, but withheld details of her death after she was found murdered at government quarters in Jalan Kuarters KLIA, Nilai, Negri Sembilan, on Thursday.
Marliza Ibrahim, 48, said she told the children, aged five and six, that their mother had died of an illness rather than reveal the circumstances of her death.
"When they asked why, I simply told them she was sick," she said.
"I could not bring myself to tell them the actual incident, as they are too young to understand," she said when contacted today.
Marliza added that their family home in Kampung Banjir, Telaga Lanas, continues to receive visitors, including friends of the deceased.
She said a post-mortem was conducted this morning, and the remains will be brought back to their hometown for burial at the Tanjung Islamic Cemetery in Pengkalan Kubor immediately upon arrival.
Norhazwani was a Customs Officer who transferred to the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency scheme and was stationed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
It was previously reported that she was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband at their home in the KLIA quarters in Nilai.
The victim suffered two stab wounds to the left abdomen and one to the right cheek. The suspect surrendered to police shortly after the incident and has been remanded for seven days starting yesterday to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
