ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government passes on relief for masses with more reduction in petrol prices. For the weekend, the petrol rates got axed by Rs3.93 per litre to Rs386.30 for the three-day period starting October 17.
Petroleum Division said the revised price would remain in effect until October 19, 2026. However, the latest adjustment will not affect diesel consumers, as the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been retained at Rs396.96 per litre.
While petrol consumers will benefit from the latest reduction, diesel users will continue to pay Rs396.96 per litre under the announced rates.
The unchanged diesel price means the latest revision offers no direct price relief to consumers purchasing high-speed diesel. The new petrol rate will apply for the specified weekend period, from October 17 to October 19, 2026.
The reduction comes amid continued volatility in domestic petrol prices and mixed movements in international energy markets. Although petrol has moved down from its recent highs, its price remains elevated, while diesel continues to trade just below the Rs400 mark.
