Paris Saint-Germain have suffered a major setback ahead of their crucial European clash. Full-back Nuno Mendes will miss this Tuesday’s vital match against FC Barcelona.
According to a report by Le Parisien, the Portuguese international is struggling with an injury. The untimely thigh injury occurred yesterday during the match against Strasbourg.
After first experiencing discomfort, the player was quickly assessed by the club’s medical staff. The defender underwent several tests this morning to assess the affected area.
Unfortunately for the Parisian side, the initial medical examinations confirmed their earlier fears. Based on these results, Mendes has been all but ruled out of the match against Barça.
The defender’s absence will be a significant blow, forcing the coaching staff to urgently reshuffle their defensive setup. His absence on the left flank also comes as a clear relief for Barcelona’s attack.
