Netflix has secured broadcasting rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, expanding its presence in live sports. The streaming giant announced the agreement on Tuesday, marking its first broadcast of a major men’s international football tournament in Spain. The deal will give viewers access to matches during a tournament hosted across several countries. Netflix has not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.
Under the deal, viewers in Spain will be able to watch one match free on each matchday. Netflix will also provide a free-to-air national channel carrying a selected package of games. The package will include every match played by Spain, both semi-finals and the final. However, the company has not yet revealed the channel’s name.

Spain will co-host the 2030 tournament with Portugal and Morocco, while Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will stage the opening matches. These games will mark the competition’s 100th anniversary, as Uruguay hosted the inaugural World Cup in 1930. Spain won the 2026 World Cup in North America, further raising expectations ahead of the next edition. The tournament will therefore combine matches across Europe, Africa and South America.
Spain’s state-owned television network TVE broadcast the national team’s matches during the 2026 tournament. Private streaming platform DAZN, which distributed Mediapro’s pay-TV World Cup channel, carried all 104 matches. TVE has not commented on whether it plans to acquire a package of games for 2030. Netflix’s agreement could reshape how Spanish viewers access the next tournament.

The deal also reflects Netflix’s wider push into live sports broadcasting. The company has expanded its sports offering through events involving the NFL, MLB, WWE, boxing and mixed martial arts. It also holds United States and Canadian rights for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Additionally, Netflix will broadcast the 2031 Women’s World Cup, which Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico and the United States will jointly host.
