As the Nevada Wolf Pack lined up to attempt a 57-yard field goal against the North Dakota State Bison on Saturday, announcer Chris Lewis called out what might happen.
He was right, and then got to call one of the most exciting plays of the 2026 college football season.
NDSU led Nevada 12-11 with four seconds left in the first half as the Wolf Pack set up for the low-probability kick. Lewis noticed the Bison had wisely put Jackson Williams in the endzone in case the kick fell short.
“By the way, North Dakota State has Jackson Williams back, with the heels on the end line in case this one’s short,” said Lewis. “A kick-six-type opportunity.”
Sure enough, Joe McFadden’s kick fell short, and Williams caught the ball. The speedy wide receiver took off as time expired and wove through Nevada players along the sidelines, eventually running it all the way back for a walk-off touchdown.
“A kick-six type opportunity.”
Chris Lewis was all over this one on the CBS Sports Network call of Nevada-North Dakota State.

“Shades of Auburn-Alabama, are you serious?” exclaimed Lewis, recalling the most infamous kick-six of them all.
Lewis had the chance to call another wild play in the second half. After a Wolf Pack touchdown, they botched the two-point conversion and fumbled the ball on a trick play. Bison defensive end Matthew Stenbroten picked up the ball and rumbled 74 yards for two points, giving NDSU a 21-17 lead.
“We’ve seen a kick-six in this game; a field goal miss return for a touchdown, and we’ve seen an opposite two-point conversion,” said Lewis.
