TransPeshawar has introduced 12-meter buses on two routes of Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system from Monday, October 19, to reduce passenger congestion and improve commuting facilities.
The new buses have started operating alongside existing 18-meter buses on routes ER-01 and SR-02. TransPeshawar said the move aims to reduce overcrowding, shorten intervals between buses, and provide passengers with more comfortable and convenient travel.
The development follows the arrival of 27 new buses at the BRT Chamkani Depot a few days ago, bringing the system’s total fleet to 296 buses. TransPeshawar said the additional buses would help improve existing services, enhance passenger comfort, and support the launch of new routes.
The company aims to strengthen Peshawar’s public transport network by expanding its fleet and improving service delivery. The introduction of different bus sizes on selected routes will also help the system accommodate passenger demand more effectively.
The latest measures form part of TransPeshawar’s efforts to improve public transport facilities and provide a better commuting experience for residents across the city.
