An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and philanthropist from Ekiti, Harrison Alonge, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election, citing what he described as the administration’s economic reforms, improved investor confidence, and massive infrastructure development across the country.
Alonge said Nigerians should support Tinubu’s re-election bid to sustain the gains of the administration’s policies, arguing that continuity would enable the Federal Government to consolidate its ongoing reforms and deliver more dividends of democracy.
The APC chieftain stated this while speaking with newsmen at his country home in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti, at the weekend.

He said the performance of the Tinubu administration, rather than the strength of opposition parties, should be the major consideration for Nigerians as they prepare for the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, Nigeria’s economic outlook is improving, with growing confidence among domestic and foreign investors, strengthening foreign reserves, and improved performance of the naira serving as indicators that the country is moving in the right direction.
Alonge also pointed to the Federal Government’s infrastructure drive, particularly the construction of major highways across different parts of the country, as evidence of its commitment to national development.
He said, “The figures are there, and you can see the handwriting on the wall. The Nigerian economy is moving forward, and investors are increasingly showing confidence in the economy. Our country is becoming attractive to foreign investment again.
“Our foreign reserves are increasing, the naira is getting stronger, and these are indications that the economy is being managed in the right direction. We have also seen significant infrastructure development across the country.”
The philanthropist urged Nigerians to remain patient with the government, acknowledging that economic reforms often require sacrifices before their benefits become fully apparent.
He said the present challenges should be viewed against the prospect of a stronger economy and a better future, stressing that sustainable development could require difficult decisions.
“Everybody wants to move forward, but the important thing is to keep moving. When you cannot run, you walk; when you cannot walk, you crawl. The most important thing is not to stop moving forward.
“Moving forward sometimes requires sacrifices, and those sacrifices involve all of us. I believe Nigerians should be patient and understand that we are making sacrifices today for a better tomorrow,” he said.
On the opposition parties’ preparations for the 2027 election, Alonge described opposition as an essential feature of democracy but maintained that it should not distract Nigerians from assessing the performance of the incumbent administration.
He dismissed suggestions that the opposition could pose a serious threat to Tinubu’s re-election, expressing confidence that Nigerians would consider the administration’s achievements when deciding whom to support at the polls.
“Opposition is normal in a democracy. There will always be people who disagree with the government, but the most important question is whether the government is performing or not.
“I believe President Tinubu is performing, and I am confident that Nigerians will look at what his administration has achieved and vote for continuity in 2027,” he said.
Alonge also called on eligible voters across the country to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the election, describing voting as a powerful instrument for determining the country’s future.
He urged Nigerians, irrespective of their social status, age or educational background, to exercise their civic responsibility by turning out in large numbers to vote.
“Our votes are our power. Elections are the means through which we determine our future and the direction our country will take in the coming years. I encourage eligible Nigerians across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to collect their PVCs and come out en masse to vote,” he said.
The APC chieftain reaffirmed his loyalty to the party, saying he had consistently supported its activities from the ward and local government levels to the state and federal levels.
He added that he remained committed to contributing to the party’s growth and supporting the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
