Grayscale recently revealed that Zcash mining rewards currently exceed Bitcoin’s by a substantial margin. According to a tweet from commentator @WuBlockchain, Zcash mining rigs generate approximately double the daily rewards of Bitcoin mining rigs and four times the revenue per megawatt-hour. This surge in profitability has prompted increased mining activity, enhancing network security and potentially stabilizing Zcash’s market position.
What Went Down
The broader cryptocurrency market is experiencing mixed signals, yet Zcash has shown notable resilience. Grayscale’s insights suggest that the profitability of Zcash mining is attracting more miners, leading to a significant uptick in mining activities, which have increased more than 2.5 times this year. As Zcash mining becomes more lucrative, this cycle could strengthen the network’s security while supporting its price performance in the competitive landscape dominated by Bitcoin. The correlation between Zcash’s rising mining rewards and Bitcoin’s dominance highlights the ongoing shifts in market dynamics.
