A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anka local government area of Zamfara state, Honourable Ahmad Sharu Anka, has resigned his membership of the party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Hon. Anka announced his resignation in a letter dated 19th October, 2026, and addressed to the ward chairman, APC, Galadima Ward, Anka local government area.
In the letter, the former APC stalwart said he was writing to formally notify the party of his decision to resign and withdraw his membership from the APC, effective from the date of the letter, and his decision to join and carry out his political activities under the platform of the ADC.
He stated that he reached the decision after careful consideration, deep reflection and consultations with his political associates, supporters and well wishers.
Hon. Anka attributed his resignation to certain developments within the APC, particularly lack of unity, injustice, denial of equal opportunity for members to participate meaningfully in party affairs, neglect and failure to recognise the contribution and sacrifices made by some loyal party members.
He said despite his contributions, commitment, loyalty and sacrifices towards the growth and success of the APC, recent developments have made it difficult for him to continue his political activities under the platform of the party.
