The burial ceremony was held in Chepkunyuk Ward, Nandi Hills, Nandi County, drawing a large crowd of family members, friends, fellow digital content creators and community members who came to pay their final respects.
How did Ronoo honour his mum?
Before the burial, Ronoo shared a moving tribute on Instagram, posting a photo of his mother participating in a running race in the United States.
Strikingly, the date October 2 2026 was visible in the background of the image, the very same day she died. He described her as a strong, joyful woman who was full of life.
During the funeral service, Ronoo stepped up to deliver a eulogy while visibly battling his emotions.
He reflected on the simple, everyday moments he now wishes he had treasured more deeply, including quiet mornings at the breakfast table and learning how to prepare her signature chapati and ugali.
"It's just the other day we were having our breakfast together, laughing and watching TV. You seemed fine, chatting and asking us to have breakfast. None of us could have expected things to change in the blink of an eye. It is so sad," he told mourners.
He also revealed that he had shared a quiet moment with his mother on the very morning she died, just before heading to work, a memory that clearly weighs heavily on him.
"I wish I had known that I was sharing one of my last meals with you. You played a very important role in my life. You were my peace, comfort, happiness, best friend and someone I knew I could always count on," Ronoo said.
He closed his tribute with words of gratitude:
"Thank you, Mum, for everything you gave me."
The most gut-wrenching scenes came as Rebecca's body was lowered into the grave. Videos circulating on TikTok and Instagram captured Ronoo collapsing into tears at the graveside, with his siblings and fellow mourners equally overcome with sorrow.
Fellow content creators and close friends rallied around him, offering comfort during one of the most difficult moments of his life.
The burial attracted a significant online community presence, reflecting the genuine connection Ronoo has built with his audience beyond the screen.
