(ANSA) - ASUNCION, 21 OTT - About twenty representatives from Paraguay’s private sector are participating in a business mission organized by the Italian Embassy in Paraguay and the Italian-Paraguayan Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) in Asunción.
According to a press release, the initiative aims to create new business opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations. The Italian Ambassador to Paraguay, Marcello Fondi, emphasized that this is “an opportunity to highlight the competitive advantages, productive potential, and investment opportunities offered by Paraguay, within a particularly favorable context shaped by the new prospects arising from the agreement between the European Union and Mercosur.” The mission aims to promote the internationalization of Paraguayan companies by facilitating their access to new markets, potential partners, and commercial opportunities. The first day of the mission took place at the historic Solfagnano Castle in Umbria, which hosted representatives from Paraguay’s private sector. Participants had the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the region’s products and explore potential collaborations, particularly in the agri-food, food and wine, and tourism sectors. The delegation’s visit also reflects a broader interest in deepening trade relations with Paraguay and fostering more direct contacts between business operators in both countries, with the goal of leading to concrete commercial transactions, forms of cooperation, and joint projects. The goal—it is stated—is to ensure that interaction between Paraguayan and Italian entrepreneurs goes beyond individual commercial agreements, evolving into strategic alliances, investments, and collaborative initiatives.
