The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), Quetta has forecast partly cloudy and predominantly dry weather across most parts of the province during the next 48 to 72 hours, while warning of possible rain-wind and thunderstorm activity in several districts, particularly in hilly and mountainous areas.
According to RMC, hot conditions are expected to persist during daytime in most districts, whereas nights will remain cool in upper, central and high-altitude regions of the province.
The report said that isolated rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms is likely in hill torrent areas of Zhob, Barkhan, Sherani, Musakhail, Kohlu, Ziarat, Killa Saifullah, Harnai, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar and Awaran districts. Light rainfall is also expected at isolated locations in the eastern parts of Quetta and Bolan districts, including adjoining areas.
Meteorological authorities have further warned that windy conditions may develop in upper, hilly and elevated regions, potentially affecting routine activities in vulnerable areas.
The RMC Quetta, indicated that while no widespread rainfall system is expected, residents of the identified districts should remain alert for isolated weather activity, particularly in hill torrent zones where sudden changes in weather conditions can occur.
Meanwhile, Turbat recorded the highest temperature in the province at 39 degrees Celsius, reflecting the continued prevalence of warm weather in southern and coastal areas. Kalat registered the lowest minimum temperature at 9 degrees Celsius, highlighting the significant temperature variation between the province’s lowland and highland regions. Residents in mountainous and high-altitude areas have also been urged to stay informed of weather updates and take necessary precautions during periods of adverse weather.
