It is the first Milwaukee Brewers World Series win in 44 years. The last time the Brewers took a World Series win was Oct. 17, 1982.
So far, the team has been perfect at home games in the playoffs this year. "Perfect" is not an opinion here. The Brewers have not lost a game at home this postseason.
The historic factor of the moment was not lost on Brewers fans, not even mentioning the fakeout of it all at the end. Among all the hype, many also noted their reserved excitement as the Brewers need at least three more wins to take the World Series trophy.
The Brewers play the Tampa Bay Rays at home again Saturday evening, Oct. 24.
