Rashmika Mandanna, one of the most popular actresses in the Indian film industry, has spoken openly about the physical pain of menstruation, her personal experience and lack of facilities related to it in the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview, she revealed how her husband and actor Vijay Deverakonda is by her side during her period. At the same time, she also spoke about the need for ‘period leave’ in the working environment of the film industry.
In an interview with Indian media outlet Mid-Day, Rashmika said that her husband Vijay’s compassionate attitude is a great source of comfort for her during the physical and mental discomforts of menstruation.
Rashmika said, “If I’m upset or have any physical changes, I let him know in advance that my period will start in a few days.
As a man, there’s nothing more he can do, they can’t remove the uterus from the body. But the feeling of him being there gives me a lot of peace of mind.”
She also said that Vijay tries to massage her stomach and hands and feet to reduce her discomfort during periods.
Rashmika also mentioned household remedies like using hot pads and drinking cumin water to deal with menstrual pain.
