Keri Russell reveals she and Matthew Rhys would have sex 'all the time' while wearing spy disguises on the set of The Americans

Keri Russell has revealed she and her partner Matthew Rhys had sex while wearing their spy disguises while filming The Americans.

The pair struck up a relationship while playing two Soviet KGB intelligence officers posing as an American husband-and-wife in the hit TV show.

While falling in love on set, Keri has now revealed the pair had some very saucy moments on set while they were kitted out in their costumes.

During an appearance on the Dear Chelsea podcast, she confessed: 'We were falling in love and staying up all night and having sex all the time and just wearing disguises, like, I'm f[in] crazy wigs and wearing pearls.

'When have you ever worn pearls and [been] f** in trailers and f** everywhere. I mean, it was insanity. It was so fun and sneaky, and sexy, and so good.'

The couple have been together for 13 years and are parents to a son, Sam, 10, as well as Keri's two kids from her previous marriage to director Shane Deary.

However, Keri insisted she's in no rush to marry Matthew even though they have been together for more than a decade.

She said: 'I've had a big party, you know. I get to dress up all the time, and I know for a lot of people, marriage is something different. People used to be married to have a credit card.

'We can have credit cards now. I don't need my last name to go away. Like, I'm cool, if you want to be here, be here. If you don't, that's cool too'

Keri added: 'We have kids, so like, that's forever. To me, [marriage is] antiquated.'

During the appearance on the podcast, Keri also addressed the controversy over Matthew not thanking her in his recent Emmy Awards speeches, insisting they had a pact about it.

The 51-year-old actor came under fire after last month's ceremony because he picked up both Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Widow's Bay and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for The Beast in Me, but failed to mention his partner in his acceptance speech.

However, Keri – who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Diplomat but lost to Pluribus star Rhea Seehorn – revealed she told Matthew not to worry about thanking her in a bid to ease his nerves about the night.

She said: 'He was just so nervous. I mean, we were all nervous. But it's a lot of pressure. And we said to each other the week of, we're both nervous people.

'We're not in that world that much. We visit that world. So we were both so nervous.

'And I looked at him a few days before and I said: 'Okay, well, can you articulate what you're most nervous about?' And he's like: 'Yeah, having to speak'.

'And I said: 'Totally.' And I said: 'Take me off your plate. Like, you don't have to thank me, I know you love me, take me off your plate. There's so many people you have to thank.''
