When Shohei Ohtani was dropped to fifth in the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ lineup for Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves, the news rattled across the Pacific like a tsunami. Ohtani had never batted that low in a postseason lineup in his career.
