Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) has issued landslide warnings for vulnerable areas in five districts, effective until 4 p.m. on Wednesday (October 21), amid continued rainfall.
Amber-level warnings have been issued for selected areas in Kegalle and Ratnapura districts, while yellow-level alerts cover vulnerable areas in Badulla, Kegalle, Matale, Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura districts.
The NBRI has warned that persistent rainfall could trigger landslides, slope failures, rockfalls and ground subsidence in the affected areas.
