The Ogun State Government has commended the Codix Charity Foundation following the official commissioning of newly constructed and upgraded educational facilities at Isanbi Comprehensive Secondary School in Ilishan-Remo.
The extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) project, executed by the charity arm of the Codix Group, was designed to foster educational excellence, improve student welfare and drive youth development within the local community.
Speaking at the inauguration event recently, the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, lauded the project as a premier example of how public-private partnerships can radically transform the educational landscape.
“Education remains the bedrock of sustainable development, and true progress in our schools relies heavily on active synergy between the government and visionary private sector partners,” Prof. Arigbabu stated.
The commissioner, in a statement, also highlighted the powerful role of school alumni in driving institutional growth.
He commended the Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive of Codix Holdings Limited, Mr Sammy Ogunjimi, and his team for setting an exemplary benchmark in corporate citizenship.
Prof. Arigbabu emphasised that the gesture demonstrates how deeply past students cherish their alma mater and remain dedicated to its cross-generational success.
Echoing the government’s praise, Dr Muftau Oyegunle, representing the Olofin of Ilishan-Remo and the Baale of Ago-Ilara, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the host community.
He described the project as a flawless convergence of visionary corporate social responsibility and community development.
The multi-faceted intervention provides immediate structural upgrades to optimise the daily teaching and learning experience for both students and staff.
The newly commissioned upgrades include two new classroom blocks, eight restrooms, new furniture, ten desktop computers and the refurbishment of the junior school Principal’s office to enhance the teaching and learning environment.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the project, Mr Sammy Ogunjimi shared that the initiative was deeply rooted in his personal history as an alumnus of Isanbi Comprehensive Secondary School.
He recalled how his fond memories and foundational experiences at the institution inspired him to invest directly back into its future.
Ogunjimi stressed that constructing proper learning environments is a critical prerequisite for helping young people unlock their full potential.
“Better learning environments can inspire students, strengthen their confidence, and create opportunities for them to participate more effectively in the future economy,” Ogunjimi noted.
