KUALA LUMPUR: National women’s squash ace S Sivasangari needed just 33 minutes to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Egyptian Squash Open 2026 after a straight games win over Belgium’s Nele Gilis in Giza today.
The Kedah-born Sivasangari, ranked No 5 in the world and fourth in the tournament, barely broke a sweat to brush aside her opponent 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 in their third round clash.
It was her fourth consecutive triumph against Gilis, currently ranked No 12 in the world.
Sivasangari, who won gold in the women's singles at the recent Asian Games, will meet Egypt's Fayrouz Aboelkheir in the semi-finals.
