Two leading South Korean cryptocurrency exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, have decided to end trading support for the Zilliqa (ZIL) token. Upbit announced that ZIL will be removed from its platform on November 16th, while Bithumb also stated that it will delist the token.
According to an announcement by Upbit, trading support for Zilliqa will end on November 16, 2026, at 09:00. The exchange stated that the decision was made due to the failure to resolve the issues that previously led to ZIL being placed on the delisting watchlist.
Upbit announced that, following an evaluation, it has determined that the existing issues related to ZIL have not been resolved. Therefore, it has been decided to terminate trading support for the token on the platform.
On the other hand, Bithumb, another South Korea-based cryptocurrency exchange, announced that it will delist Zilliqa. However, Bithumb’s announcement did not provide details on when ZIL transactions will be terminated.
Bithumb also announced that the MANTRA token’s delisting watchlist has been extended. This means the previously initiated review process for MANTRA will continue.
Cryptocurrency exchanges regularly review the digital assets they list based on certain criteria. If problems are not resolved after these reviews, trading support for the tokens in question may be terminated.
Extending the period on the watchlist does not directly mean delisting. This decision indicates that the asset in question continues to be under review.
Upbit and Bithumb’s decisions regarding ZIL reveal that the token will lose trading support on two major South Korean exchanges, while uncertainty continues regarding MANTRA’s future on Bithumb.
